Every glamping property has a dome that families gravitate to. At Falling Stars, it’s Leo — one of our two oversized domes, and the one that spends its extra square footage on exactly what a family trip needs: six real beds, the biggest loft on the property with a dedicated playroom, the largest kitchen we have, and heated bathroom floors for the morning scramble.
Six Beds, No Sofa Math
A king on the main floor for the adults. Two queens up in the loft. That’s six people in actual beds — no futon negotiations, no one drawing the short straw. The loft is reached by an angled ladder kids treat like a jungle gym, and once they’re up there, they have the largest lofted area of any of our domes, with ample play space that means rainy afternoons aren’t a crisis.
The Kitchen That Feeds Them All
Leo’s L-shaped kitchen is the largest cooking area on the property — real counter space, a real layout, plus the outdoor grill. When you’re feeding six people three times a day, 30 minutes from the nearest restaurant cluster, this is the amenity you end up most grateful for. Heated bathroom floors and an extended mudroom round out the practical luxuries — wet swimsuits and muddy shoes stay in the mudroom, where they belong.
The Setting
Leo has a partial lake view through the trees — we’ll be straight about that: if an unobstructed water panorama is the priority, Libra or Eclipse are your domes. What Leo gives up in view it returns in space, and the lake itself is a short trip away: kayaks and paddle boards rent on site for around $30 a day, boat parking is at the dome, and the dock is two miles down the road. After dark, the view everyone shares shows up — a genuinely dark sky, Milky Way included, the kind kids haven’t seen before.

What to Know Before You Book
The queens are up an angled ladder — easy for kids and most adults, but anyone who shouldn’t climb gets the king downstairs. Stock up before you arrive: the nearest store is 15 minutes away and limited, and six appetites are six appetites. Trails get muddy — pack expendable shoes. And it’s remote out here, ten miles from the Missouri border. With kids, that’s not a drawback; it’s the absence of everything you came here to avoid.
