Here’s the honest pitch for Eclipse: the interior is our standard build — comfortable, clean, everything works — and the setting is anything but standard. Eclipse sits in one of the most epic spots at Falling Stars with an excellent view of Bull Shoals Lake, and when you’re in the hot tub at dusk watching the water go still, nobody has ever once thought about the cabinetry.
The View
Eclipse is one of four domes at Falling Stars with a true lake view, and its setting is the kind you pick a dome for. Deck, fire pit, hot tub — all of it aimed at the water. At night the property delivers its namesake: a sky with no light pollution, the Milky Way on clear nights, and meteors often enough that you’ll stop counting. The dome’s name isn’t an accident — this is a stargazer’s unit.
Two Beds Downstairs
Eclipse has a layout the other domes don’t: both a queen bed and a full-size futon on the main floor, with a full bed up in the loft. That means four of the five sleeping spots require zero climbing — useful for families with little kids, or any group where the ladder shouldn’t be part of the plan. Full kitchen, full bathroom with hot water, outdoor grill, fire pit with firewood included.
The Lake Out Front
Kayaks and paddle boards rent on site for around $30 a day, boat parking is at the dome, and the local dock is two miles down the road. Bull Shoals is known for serious bass; the White River below the dam is world-class trout water. Ozark Isle offers cliff jumping, hiking, and bike trails. What to Know Before You Book
The loft ladder in Eclipse is a straight up-and-down ladder — steeper than most of our domes. The good news is the layout barely needs it: with a queen and a futon on the main floor, the loft is overflow, best for kids and agile adults. The interior is our standard prefab build, not one of the custom ones — if handcrafted woodwork matters to you, look at Libra or Aquarius; if the view matters more, you’re in the right place. Bring groceries (nearest store 15 minutes, limited), shoes for muddy trails, and the understanding that it’s properly remote out here.
