Where are you coming from? We have two properties — six geodesic domes each — in two different parts of the South. Pick your starting city below for drive times, route notes, and the version of the trip that fits your home market.
The two properties
The Canyon at Pond Creek — Pikeville, Tennessee. Six geodesic domes on a 447-acre canyon rim in the Cumberland Plateau. On-property climbing (Pond Creek Crag, 117 routes), waterfalls, a 100-foot canyon, hot tubs on every deck. 30 minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park.
Falling Stars at Bull Shoals Lake — Oakland, Arkansas. Six geodesic domes on the quiet side of Bull Shoals Lake (Class AAA water clarity), in the heart of the Ozarks. World-class trout fishing on the White River tailwater, real dark skies, private hot tubs. 2 hours south of Branson.

Coming to The Canyon at Pond Creek (Pikeville, Tennessee)
- Chattanooga, TN — 1.5 hours north. Tennessee mountains without driving into Smokies traffic.
- Nashville, TN — 2 hours east. The fastest real-mountains weekend from Music City.
- Knoxville, TN — 2 hours west. The Cumberland Plateau instead of the Smokies (you’ve done the Smokies).
- Louisville, KY — 3 hours south. The closest real-mountain weekend from Kentuckiana. Past Mammoth Cave, past Red River Gorge.
- Huntsville, AL — 3 hours north. Cooler air and dark skies for NASA / Cummings Research Park engineers.
- Atlanta, GA — 3.5 hours north. The I-75 weekend straight up; skip the Asheville crowds.
- Birmingham, AL — 3.5 hours north. The I-65 weekend up through Nashville; skip Cheaha bath houses and the 5-hour Smokies drive.
- Cincinnati, OH — 4.5 hours south. Real mountains, not Hocking Hills gorges. Red River Gorge climbers should pay attention.
- Indianapolis, IN — 5 hours south. Real mountains, not Brown County hills.

- St. Louis, MO — 5 hours southwest. Through Mark Twain National Forest into the Ozarks.

- Wichita, KS — 5.5 hours southeast. Cold mountain water without driving to Colorado.
- Dallas / Fort Worth, TX — 6 hours north. Escape Texas summer heat by 8-15°F. The cold-water mountain Ozark trip Texas lakes can’t offer.

Which property is right for me?
Pick The Canyon at Pond Creek if: you want mountains, a real canyon, climbing access on property, on-site waterfalls, proximity to a major state park (Fall Creek Falls). The trip is mountains-first, water-second.
Pick Falling Stars at Bull Shoals Lake if: you want a lake-first trip, trophy trout fishing on the White River tailwater, the cleanest large lake in the region, real dark skies. The trip is water-first, mountains-second.
Or both: some guests have done both properties in different seasons — they’re 7 hours apart so not a single trip, but absolutely a “this year and next year” combination.
