We could bury this fact, but it’s more interesting out loud: Capricorn’s view is mostly obscured by forest — and it’s the most-rented dome at Falling Stars, with nearly 40 reviews on Airbnb while its lake-view siblings are still collecting their first handful. Whatever guests come for, here’s what they find: a dome wrapped in trees instead of pointed at a panorama, where the whole experience turns inward — the fire, the hot tub, the quiet, and at night, straight up, where the real show at Falling Stars was always going to be.
The Forest Setting
Capricorn sits in the woods on our 85 acres of Bull Shoals shoreline. Where the lake-view domes feel like a front-row seat, Capricorn feels like a den — enclosed, private, and quieter in a way that’s hard to describe until you’re in the hot tub with nothing around you but trees. The canopy opens above the deck, and in this corner of the Ozarks, with no light pollution for miles, “above the deck” means the Milky Way. The dark-sky experience is identical in every dome here. Capricorn just skips the preview and saves the whole show for night.
Inside
A queen and a full-size futon on the main floor, with a full bed up in the loft — sleeping four to five, with most of the beds requiring no climbing. Full kitchen, full bathroom with hot water, outdoor grill, private fire pit with firewood included. The interior is our standard build: comfortable, not custom — the budget here went into the land and the tub.
The Lake Is Still Yours
No lake view doesn’t mean no lake. Kayaks and paddle boards rent on site for around $30 a day, there’s boat parking at the dome, and the dock is two miles away. What to Know Before You Book
Let’s repeat the headline: you will not see the lake from this dome — guests who book Capricorn expecting a water view are the one unhappy review we never want, so we’re telling you twice. If the view is the trip, book Aries, Libra, or Eclipse. Capricorn’s loft ladder is the straight up-and-down kind — steeper than most of our domes — though with a queen and futon downstairs, you can skip it entirely. Bring groceries (nearest store 15 minutes, limited), shoes for muddy trails, and a flashlight respect for how dark real dark gets out here.
