Camp Six is a small, primitive tent camping area at the up-canyon end of the Creek to Crag trail on The Canyon at Pond Creek property in Pikeville, Tennessee. It exists so climbers who don’t want to spend dome money can still stay on property and walk to the crag.
This is a pilot. If it works and stays respected, it stays. If we find trash or human waste on the ground, it closes.
What it is
- 6 tent sites across two general camping areas, separated by about 200 feet
- Each area has a stone fire pit ring and a picnic table
- Boulders define the car-parking zone vs. tent-pitching zone in each area
- Total footprint is small by design — this isn’t a campground, it’s on-property overflow
What’s not here
- No water
- No electric
- No toilet
- No firewood provided
- No trash service
- No cell reception guaranteed
Pack in, pack out. Everything. Including human waste. This is the deal.
Getting there
- 4WD mandatory. The road up-canyon is rough, primitive, and not passable in a low-clearance passenger car. If you show up in a sedan, you won’t make it. Bring the right vehicle.
- 1 mile from the climbers’ parking lot at the up-canyon end of the Creek to Crag trail
- Not on Apple Maps or Google Maps as its own location. Directions go out with your payment confirmation.
How to book
Camp Six isn’t in Cloudbeds or Hipcamp yet — it will be eventually. For now:
- Rate: TBD, targeting $25–$30 per site, per night

- Gate code: delivered with your payment confirmation.
- Already on property climbing and want to stay? Same drill — text or email to arrange payment, then head up. Honor system for existing crag guests.
The rules
Camp Six is an experiment. Primitive, no services. No water. No electric. No toilets. This is a pack-in, pack-out site — including human waste. The camping fee is just to cover occasional maintenance. If we find trash or waste, this closes.
Camp Six community rules
- Quiet hours: 10pm to 7am. No amplified music at any hour. Sound carries in the canyon — dome guests paying dome rates deserve their peace.
- Respect the property. You’re a guest of an active resort, not on public land. Act accordingly.
- No arrivals after dark if it’s your first time — the road is rough and you need to see what you’re driving on.
- Dogs welcome — on-leash only, well-behaved and quiet only. No dogs prone to barking. If your dog can’t behave, it’s not the right fit.
- One vehicle per site. Additional passenger vehicles park at the climbers’ lot; walk in from there.
