Twelve geodesic domes across two properties — six on a Tennessee canyon rim, six on an Arkansas lake. Every dome has a private hot tub on the deck. No shared facilities, no neighbors in earshot, no kids running through the halls. This is what a couples weekend is supposed to feel like.

Why these properties work for couples specifically
- Private hot tub on every deck. Not a shared facility. Not a hot tub down the path. Your hot tub, on your deck, facing your view, every night of your stay.
- No shared walls. Each dome is freestanding. Spacing between domes ranges from 90 feet (the paired ones) to 300 feet (the standalone ones). You won’t hear neighbors.
- The view is the room. Both properties built sight-lines into the dome layouts — canyon rim at one property, lake at the other. The view from the bed is intentional.
- Full kitchens. Cook in or pick up groceries on the way; no obligation to drive into town for meals if you don’t want to.
- West Elm-style interiors. Real beds (king-sized in most domes), proper bathrooms with en suite showers, modern fixtures. This isn’t camping with extra string lights.
- Cell service that’s a little spotty. A feature, not a bug, on a couples weekend. Wi-Fi is reliable when you want it; cellular dies off enough to dim the work-Slack reflex.
Pick the trip that fits
You have a real choice here. Two properties, two different trips. Pick by what you’re actually after.

The Canyon at Pond Creek — for the mountains-first couples weekend
What you get: Six domes on a 447-acre canyon rim in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee. A 100-foot canyon visible from the property. On-site waterfalls. 30 minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park (Tennessee’s most-visited waterfall). Climbing on the property if you’re into it.
Best for couples who:
- Want real mountains — not hills, not piedmont, real elevation and cliff drops
- Like hiking, waterfalls, and lookout points
- One or both partners might want to climb (no pressure either way)
- Prefer crisp dry mountain air over lake humidity in summer
Couples-oriented dome recommendations: Domes 5 and 6 are specifically configured for couples — canyon-edge placement, sized for two, not configured for kids. Both stand 90 feet apart from each other and are visible from the canyon rim.

Falling Stars at Bull Shoals Lake — for the lake-and-stars couples weekend
What you get: Six domes on the quiet side of Bull Shoals Lake in the Arkansas Ozarks. One of the cleanest large lakes in the country (Class AAA water clarity). World-class trout fishing on the White River tailwater if you want to add a half-day on the water. Real dark skies — the Milky Way visible from your hot tub on clear nights.
Best for couples who:
- Want a lake setting over a mountain setting
- Love stargazing or astronomy (the property genuinely lives in a near-zero light pollution zone)
- Fly fishers or curious about trout fishing
- Want maximum quiet — Bull Shoals is meaningfully more remote than Tennessee mountain country
Couples-oriented domes: All six Falling Stars domes (named for constellations — Aries, Libra, Aquarius, Eclipse, Leo, Capricorn) work for couples; some are more couples-specific while others can accommodate a small family. Tell us at booking what you’re after and we’ll match you.

When to book
For anniversaries, birthdays, and milestone weekends: Book at least 4-6 weeks out. October weekends sell out earliest at both properties (fall color). New Year’s weekends are also tight. Spring and summer have more flexibility.
For “we just need a weekend”: Both properties typically have something available 1-2 weeks out. Tuesday-Thursday stays are easiest to find on short notice and often quieter than weekends regardless.
For “we want to plan something with intention”: Pick a season that fits the trip. October for fall color (book by July). January-February for empty-property quiet and hot-tub-vs-cold-air contrast. May or September for the best weather balance.

Practical info
- Check-in: 4pm at both properties

- Cancellation: Full refund up to 5 days before check-in
- Pets: Not currently permitted
- Pricing: Starts around $300/night at the Canyon at Pond Creek. Falling Stars rates vary by season and dome.
Frequently asked questions
Which property should we pick for our anniversary?
Depends on what your couple cares about. If you both love mountains, hiking, and a canyon view, the Canyon is the call. If you love lakes, fishing, or stargazing, Falling Stars. If you’re truly torn, the Canyon is the slightly more “wow” property visually (the canyon is dramatic and visible from most domes); Falling Stars is the more relaxed/recharging property.
Can we do both properties in the same trip?
Probably not in the same week — they’re 7 hours apart and the drive eats too much of the trip. But “this anniversary at the Canyon, next anniversary at Falling Stars” is a real combo many of our guests have done.
Are the domes really private? No shared anything?
Yes. Each dome is freestanding with its own kitchen, bathroom, and hot tub. Spacing between domes is 90-300 feet depending on which dome. You’ll see other domes across the canyon (at the Canyon property) or in the distance (at Falling Stars), but you won’t hear other guests.
Is there nightlife or restaurants nearby?
Honestly, no. The properties are intentionally in quiet locations. Each property’s nearest town (Pikeville TN for the Canyon, Mountain Home AR for Falling Stars) is 15 minutes away and has a few good local restaurants — but if your couples trip requires walking-distance bars and a dinner scene, neither property is the right fit. Consider these “go in, stay in” weekends with maybe one dinner out.
What if it rains the whole weekend?
Hot tubs work in the rain. Each dome has a real kitchen so cooking in is comfortable. The Wi-Fi is fast for streaming. The properties are designed to be enjoyable indoors as well as out — rain doesn’t ruin the trip.
Can we hire a chef, in-room massage, or other concierge services?
We don’t offer those services directly. Some guests arrange them independently — local providers in the Mountain Home or Chattanooga areas can sometimes come to a remote location. Ask at booking and we can share what we know.
Are these properties LGBTQ-friendly?
Absolutely. All couples welcome. The properties are run as private hospitality businesses; we don’t ask who you’re with and we don’t care to.
Book your couples weekend
Pick the property that fits, pick the season, book at least a 2-night stay. Both properties are private, both have hot tubs on every deck, both are intentionally quiet.
