Fall Creek Falls is one of the most visited state parks in Tennessee — which means the lodge, the inn, and the lakeside cabins are often booked solid weeks ahead. If you found this page because the park had no availability, you’re in the right place.
The Canyon at Pond Creek sits about 30 minutes from the falls, on 447 private acres in Pikeville. Six geodesic domes are spread across our own canyon of waterfalls, sandstone cliffs, and deep forest — so you can spend the day at Fall Creek Falls and come back to a place that’s entirely yours, not a row of cabins or a crowded campground loop.
A basecamp for the falls, and a destination of its own
Most people come to this part of the Cumberland Plateau for one waterfall. We’re surrounded by them. The Canyon is built into a private gorge with its own cascades, climbing walls, and quiet trails — the same wild plateau landscape that made Fall Creek Falls famous, except here it’s just you and your group.
Hike Fall Creek Falls, Cane Creek, and Piney Falls by day. Come home to a geodesic dome on the canyon rim, sink into your private hot tub, and watch the stars come out over the gorge.
Why guests choose The Canyon over a park cabin
- Total privacy. 447 acres, six domes, no shared walls and no neighbors a few feet away.
- Your own waterfalls and canyon. You don’t have to drive to see moving water — it’s part of the property.
- A private hot tub on every deck, with canyon or valley views from a setting designed entirely around the landscape.
- A real climbing destination on its own land. The Canyon sits on Pond Creek Crag with 117 established routes on the property and 50+ more in development. Grades run from 5.6 to 5.14, with a deep stack of 5.12–5.13 — one of the best variety crags in the region, and welcoming at every level. The property owner is one of the route developers himself, with 54 routes of his own (mostly 5.8–5.11) and new lines going up regularly. Pond Creek is on track to be a destination crag, not a side stop.
- Real comfort, not roughing it. Each dome has a full en suite bathroom, a complete kitchenette (full-size fridge, stove, air fryer, microwave, coffee maker, cookware, and an outdoor grill), West Elm furnishings, climate control, WiFi, and a smart TV.
Built for groups
The domes sleep from four up to eight, and groups are very welcome — book a single dome for a couple’s escape, or several across the property for a family reunion, a friends’ weekend, or a celebration. With all six, you have a private canyon to yourselves.
Plan your Fall Creek Falls trip from The Canyon
- Distance to the park: about 30 minutes by car
- Sleeps: 4 to 8 per dome; six domes total
- Open: year-round — the waterfalls are at their most dramatic in spring and after a good rain

- Pets: we’re not able to accommodate pets at this time
- Book direct: the best rates and availability are always here on our site
- From Nashville: about a 2-hour drive east — see our guide to glamping near Nashville
